Retail freight is a calendar with cartons attached

A spring collection that misses Felixstowe by a week is not “slightly late” — it is markdown. We book ocean against the date the DC can receive, not against a generic transit table, and we use Newark to build containers when suppliers dribble in. Air covers the gap that would otherwise stock-out, not the whole season.

We are a U.S. forwarder with our own warehouse four minutes from Port Newark: storage, palletising, pick and pack, transload. We are not an Amazon-style fulfilment network and we do not sell same-day last mile in other countries. Returns of export shipments can be reverse-routed; consumer returns inside a destination market belong to your local 3PL.

This page is for you if…

  • You export finished goods from the U.S. to a retailer or your own DC abroad
  • Several vendors need to land in one container from Newark
  • Peak season means you have to book space before the rate run-up
  • You want warehousing next to the port rather than a distant 3PL

This is not the page for…

  • Nationwide U.S. e-commerce last mile or marketplace fulfilment
  • Same-day consumer delivery in the destination country
  • A full reverse-logistics repair centre for customer returns

What we move for consumer and retail

Export replenishment

Cartoned goods on FCL or LCL to the ports we publish on the destinations pages. The booking parameter is the DC appointment, not the vessel name you saw on a tracker ad.

  • FCL when volume fills a box; LCL when it does not
  • Peak-season space flagged early (late summer into Q4)
  • Itemised destination charges so landed cost is visible

Newark consolidation

Inbound from U.S. suppliers, held, packed and loaded as one export shipment. This is the useful version of “fulfilment” for a forwarder.

  • Palletising and carton counts that match the packing list
  • Photos before seal if you need them
  • Transload from inbound containers when the origin is not Newark

Air for the miss

When ocean will not make the on-shelf date, we price air for the slice that has to fly and leave the rest on the water.

  • Split shipments on one coordinator
  • Chargeable weight explained before you approve
  • No theatre about flying a full season’s stock “just in case”

Export returns and overstocks

Goods coming back to the U.S. or being diverted to another market. Reverse ocean or air with the same document discipline as the outbound.

  • Reason and condition stated — customs treats returns specifically
  • Not a consumer RMA desk for individual parcels
  • Quarantine or disposal only via named facilities, not our general floor

Services this cargo usually uses

Ocean for the season. Warehouse and transload in Newark. Ground to get it to the port.

How a retail export is booked

  1. SKU reality, not a brand story

Carton count, weights, dimensions, origin and the date the DC needs it. HS codes if you have them; we classify if you do not.

  2. FCL, LCL or split with air

We price the options against the calendar. Peak weeks need earlier booking; we will say when space is already tight.

  3. Build, file, seal

Cargo received in Newark or collected, packed, export-filed in-house, sealed. The packing list has to match the cartons in the box.

  4. Destination DC rules

Label, ASN and appointment requirements belong on the file. A perfect transit that fails goods-in is still a failed shipment.

Papers this cargo usually needs

Commercial invoice and packing list
By SKU or at least by product type. Destination retailers and customs both reject “sundry goods”.
Export filing
AES/EEI in-house. Value and classification have to match what the importer will declare.
Packing and labelling spec
Retailer routing guides are destination problems we can follow if you give them to us before we pack.
Licences for restricted consumer goods
Batteries, cosmetics with DG, branded goods with IP questions — flagged before booking.

Retail freight questions

What consumer goods do you handle?

Cartoned and palletised finished goods — apparel, household, beauty, electronics and similar. We export from the U.S. and can stage in Newark. We are not a last-mile courier.

Do you offer international shipping for retail products?

Yes. Ocean and air from U.S. origins to the destinations we list, with customs filed on the U.S. side and coordinated at destination.

Can you handle returns?

Export-scale returns and overstocks, yes. Individual consumer RMAs in another country, no — that is a local 3PL job.

Do you do e-commerce fulfilment?

We pick, pack and consolidate from Newark for export. We do not run marketplace fulfilment or national parcel injection as a product.
