High value is a packing and insurance problem before it is a speed problem

A pallet of servers can fly in two days and still arrive as a claim if the crate is wrong. Technology freight is chargeable weight, lithium-battery rules, and a declared value that matches what you would actually need to replace. We book air when the date or the value says so, and ocean when a launch is weeks out and the volume would punish air pricing.

We can hold electronics in Newark in ordinary warehouse conditions and pack for export. We are not a data-centre mover that un-racks, drives and re-racks a live facility, and we do not operate an armed high-security fleet as a default product. Security-handled air and extra insurance are quoted when the value justifies them.

This page is for you if…

  • Finished electronics or components with a launch or install date
  • Lithium batteries in or with the equipment
  • A declared value that should be insured, not hoped
  • A mix of air for the first wave and ocean for the rest

This is not the page for…

  • Turnkey data-centre relocation including IT rebuild and cabling
  • Consumer phone repairs or mailbox forwarding
  • Guaranteeing a bonded “secure vault” we do not operate

What we move for technology

Electronics and IT equipment

Laptops, networking gear, servers and components packed against shock and moisture, with lithium status declared when it applies.

  • Air for dense, urgent lots; ocean for volume
  • IATA lithium rules applied before we offer a flight
  • Packing that is more than a stretch-wrapped pallet when the value says so

High-value hardware

Equipment where the claim would hurt more than the freight. Insurance is a line on the quote; tracking is the ordinary milestone feed plus the carrier’s.

  • Declared value you are willing to stand behind
  • Security-handled products quoted when they earn their keep
  • No marketing claim of “military-grade” trucks

Server and kit moves

Racked or crated hardware as freight from a U.S. origin to a destination dock. De-install and re-install stay with your IT crew or a specialist mover.

  • Dimensions of racks and crates before we choose a mode
  • Delivery slot at a DC or colocation loading dock
  • Split: tools and first racks by air, bulk by ocean, one coordinator

Staging in Newark

Hold, check carton counts, and load when the destination is ready. Climate-controlled specialist storage is arranged when the product needs it, not assumed.

  • Inventory counts you can reconcile
  • Pick and pack for export kits
  • Honest limits: this is a freight warehouse, not a clean room

Services this cargo usually uses

Air when time or value dominates. Ocean when the cube would make air silly. Customs on every export.

How a technology shipment is booked

  1. What it is worth and whether it is lithium

Commodity, value, battery status, dimensions. Those four decide mode, packing and whether a flight is even legal.

  2. Air, ocean or split

We price chargeable weight on air against FCL/LCL on ocean. Launch dates make the choice obvious; ego does not.

  3. Pack and file

Export packing, lithium marks if required, AES in-house. Serial lists when the importer or the insurer wants them.

  4. Dock appointment

DCs and colo sites do not accept surprise freight. Delivery is booked; the file has the receiving hours.

Papers this cargo usually needs

Commercial invoice with model/serial detail
Enough for customs and for a claim. “Electronics” as one line invites a hold.
Lithium battery documents
UN3480/3481 (or the current UN number) and the packing instruction when batteries are in or with the equipment.
Export filing
AES in-house. Encryption and dual-use items are classification questions, not afterthoughts.
Insurance instructions
Declared value and whether you take the cover we quote. Carrier liability alone will not replace a rack of servers.

Technology freight questions

What technology cargo do you handle?

Electronics, IT equipment, servers as freight, and high-value kits. We do not rebuild data centres or run a gadget-repair mailroom.

How do you protect high-value shipments?

Fit-for-purpose packing, a mode that matches the value, insurance on declared value, and a destination agent who knows it is not a carton of apparel. Extra security products when you pay for them.

Can you move a data centre?

We can move the hardware as freight. Un-racking, chain of custody as an IT project, and reinstallation are a specialist mover’s job — we will not sell that as a hidden extra.

Do lithium batteries change everything?

They change the air product and sometimes forbid a passenger aircraft. Tell us at quote stage. Discovering batteries at the ramp is how cargo misses the flight.
