Healthcare freight is ordinary cargo with a narrower margin for error

A diagnostic machine is high-value general cargo. A biologic is a temperature band, a data logger and a product the airline has to accept. PPE is volume and a date. Treating all three as “healthcare logistics” with a single slogan is how vaccines travel on a dry truck. We ask for the temperature, the DG status and the receiving party’s rules before we name a mode.

We book cool-chain air products and reefer ocean containers, file export documents in-house, and can stage general medical cargo in Newark. We do not operate a GDP-certified pharmaceutical warehouse or a hospital courier network. Where a licensed cold store is required, it is a named subcontractor on the quote.

This page is for you if…

  • Devices or instruments that cannot be tipped, shocked or delayed into a general LCL
  • Pharma that has a stated temperature band, not “keep cool if possible”
  • Supplies that have to hit a hospital or distributor date
  • Cargo that is also DG (reagents, aerosols, lithium-powered devices)

This is not the page for…

  • Clinical-trial patient logistics or medical courier runs inside a city
  • Claiming our Newark floor is a validated pharma cold chamber
  • Controlled-substance vaulting as a DEA registrant — we book freight, we are not your pharmacy

What we move for healthcare

Medical equipment

Imaging, surgical and diagnostic machines packed to survive the mode we actually book — air ULD or ocean crate — with insurance on declared value.

  • Crate and orientation labels before pickup
  • Air when the install date is close; ocean when it is not
  • Destination agent who can deliver to a hospital dock, not only a depot

Pharmaceuticals

Finished doses, samples and intermediates on cool-chain air or reefer ocean when the product requires it. The temperature band is a booking parameter, not a hope.

  • Airline or ocean reefer product named on the quote
  • Data loggers when you require a record, not as theatre
  • No booking until the SDS and any DG class are on the file

Medical supplies and consumables

PPE, disposables and replenishment stock as FCL, LCL or air. The problem is usually lead time and carton counts, not a special regime.

  • Newark palletising and container build when suppliers dribble in
  • Ocean for volume; air for the gap that would stock-out a ward
  • Plain packing lists — hospitals reject mystery mixed cartons

Regulated and dual-status cargo

Devices with batteries, reagents that are DG, or goods that need an FDA export view as well as a freight booking.

  • Classification before the flight is offered
  • Export filing in-house so one party owns a wrong code
  • We stop if a licence is required and missing

Services this cargo usually uses

Air for time and temperature. Ocean reefer for volume. Customs on every border crossing.

How a healthcare shipment is booked

  1. Product, temperature and class

What it is, the band it must stay in, and whether it is DG. “Medical supplies” is not a booking description.

  2. Mode that can keep the promise

Cool-chain air, reefer ocean, or dry freight if the product is stable. If we cannot keep the band, we will not sell the lane.

  3. Pack and file

Packing the airline or ocean line accepts, pickup that makes the cut-off, export documents filed in-house.

  4. Handover with the record

Destination agent briefed; logger data and documents available to the consignee. Hospital receiving hours are part of the delivery, not a surprise.

Papers this cargo usually needs

Commercial invoice with product names
Generic “medical goods” delays destination agencies. Use the names the importer’s broker expects.
Temperature and handling instructions
Written band, not a verbal “keep cold”. This decides the product we book.
SDS / DG declaration
Required for reagents, aerosols, batteries and many kits. Missing SDS means no air offer.
Export filing and any FDA-related papers
We file AES in-house. If the product needs additional U.S. export documentation, we need it before cut-off.

Healthcare freight questions

What medical products can you transport?

Equipment, pharmaceuticals, PPE and consumables, including many DG kits once classed. We do not run a clinical courier or store controlled drugs as a registrant.

How do you handle temperature-sensitive pharma?

By booking a cool-chain air product or an ocean reefer with a stated set-point, and by refusing dry freight when the band cannot be kept. Loggers when you ask for a record.

Are you “healthcare certified”?

We are a freight forwarder with in-house export filing. We do not advertise a GDP warehouse we do not operate. Specialist storage, when needed, is booked with a facility that does.

Can you deliver to a hospital dock?

Yes, through a destination agent and a trucker who can make a booked slot. Walk-in “leave it at goods-in” only works if the hospital said so in writing.
